Running longer and faster… a few thoughts…

Just be free to run…

A bit different wednesday evening after long workday: movie at the cinema 🙂 French movie-evening was showing “Free to Run” which is a documentary on…yap… running. This was very well presented, the interviews were quite fun some times. Great to hear again the story of having women starting to participate to race, with Kathrin Switzer and first official female participation to Boston marathon (1967…), with Joan Benoit winning the first Olympic marathon race (1984!!!), the start of NY marathon, the running movement in Switzerland and female-only running races. Very good indeed and definitely full with inspiration. At least I felt inspired 🙂 And yes music+story=small tears from time to time.

Continuing the run despite last week “hip-incident”. Strangely it had not come back. Chat with the ostheopath did not give much apart from getting there asap if it was coming back. Way-too-long workdays this week made the running suffer a bit, having to do it in the evening (as the 5am-wake up call was not fully convincing the body to get up and go out and run). But now TGIF! Energy levels pretty down. The rain and cold ain’t helping. Therefore rest day today and race tomorrow 🙂 Nothing planned, could have popped up on the same day, but now I have something to look forward to! (of course the weather forecast is terrible, the route is hilly and tricky and on gravel for some parts… wonderfully answering to all I love in a race…NOT!).

Time for a bit of chillout and reading before early bedtime. Yes it’s Friday and finally can sleep a full night!

Feel free to run!
